Each year, roughly 30 community leaders participate in Milwaukee Water Commons’ “Water School.” Participants discuss and learn about community issues like flooding, lack of water access, and water conservation and study green infrastructure plans and other aspects of Milwaukee’s Water City Agenda. This year, Milwaukee Water Commons will design a program to re-engage the 25 community-based organizations that have participated in the program in the past. Water School alumni will report back on previous projects and experiences, share lessons learned, establish relationships with other participating organizations, and deepen their collective knowledge of water issues facing Milwaukee. They will also be given the opportunity to build on their past neighborhood-based water projects and to pitch ideas for new projects.
