With support from the Fund, the City of Milwaukee ECO office will implement several new programs, policies, and educational campaigns aimed at improving water quality and firmly establishing Milwaukee as a “Water Centric City.” Initiatives under this grant include developing enforcement tools for the citywide ban on coal-tar based sealants, launching the City of Milwaukee Green Infrastructure Plan, and collaborating with other organizations to reduce Milwaukee’s consumption of single-use plastic waste. The City of Milwaukee’s work will serve as a model for other Wisconsin communities’ sustainability efforts.
