The City of Milwaukee’s Environmental Collaboration Office (ECO) will promote, implement and operationalize a number of new initiatives and programs aimed at improving water quality. Along with developing strategies to implement the city’s recently adopted Green Infrastructure Plan Framework and ban on coal-tar based sealants, the city will create a “Commercial Rainwater Harvesting Kit” and will explore incentives to reduce consumption of single-use plastic products, a major source of water pollution in the Great Lakes.
