Ozaukee County is systematically restoring high priority watersheds that the County identifies with its ecological prioritization tool (partially funded by FFLM). This project addresses Tendick Creek, a critical link between the Milwaukee River and high quality breeding habitat for species such as Northern Pike. Outcomes include removal or remediation of four large impediments to fish passage; reconnection of up to 0.49 stream miles; and enhancement of 59.4 acres of 100-year floodplain, 60 acres of wetlands, and 19.1 acres of potentially restorable wetlands. Fisheries monitoring before and after the project will track data and contribute to future successful efforts.
