GLCCC is a regional youth corps that trains and educates young adults on water quality and habitat restoration projects. They focus on providing occupational credentials and experiential learning opportunities for corps members to build marketable skills, work history and make a difference in their community. Crews will focus on 1) Replacement of approximately 7,500 square feet of impervious parking lot with permeable pavement, 2) Maintenance of green roofs at five Milwaukee public housing development sites, 3) Control invasives and tree and vegetation on lands on the Milwaukee and Menominee Rivers, 4) install 2,500 square feet of rain gardens in Mt. Pleasant and Caledonia along the Root and Pike Rivers, and 5) application of natural lawn care services at several parklands in Milwaukee.
