After decades of deterioration, Stony Brook, Calumet County’s only cold-water trout stream and a tributary to the Manitowoc River, has the potential to support trout once again, thanks to effective nutrient management efforts. Building on these land-use successes, Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership will further reduce sediment and phosphorus runoff by stabilizing eroding shorelines and improving buffers between the stream and adjacent cropland.
