This restoration of 3,960 feet of Stony Brook, a tributary to the Manitowoc River, will allow for the reintroduction of trout into a once successful trout fishery and Calumet County’s only cold water trout stream. Deteriorating water quality made it difficult to sustain a trout population in Stony Brook after the 1970s and 80s. With water quality back where it needs to be, the time is right to implement this habitat restoration plan developed by the DNR and Calumet County Land and Water Conservation Department (LWCD).
