A bioretention basin and rain garden were installed at Silver Spring Park in 2019-20. As Phase 3 of these efforts to restore and preserve the Park, the Whitefish Bay Garden Club will create a more sustainable, biodiverse environment by replacing exotic plant species with natives for improved water management and quality, bluff stability, and an ecologically sound landscape. This will yield much-needed habitat for migratory birds and native pollinator species including the Karner Blue butterfly, the Rusty Patched Bumblebee, and the Monarch Butterfly.
