Fund For Lake Michigan

Sheboygan Marsh Enhancement Phase II

  • Grant Recipient: Ducks Unlimited
  • Amount: $65,000
  • Year: 2016
  • Watershed: Sheboygan River
  • Focus Area: Stream Restoration

With support from the Fund for Lake Michigan, Ducks Unlimited will develop three design plans to address water management at Sheboygan Marsh, the largest restored wetland in Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan Basin. Currently, the dam in Sheboygan Marsh is deteriorated and the water control structures at this site are insufficient to manage water levels. Ducks Unlimited has already conducted a study to determine the viability and impact of various control measures and would now like to develop design these three plans, each with varying levels of functionality and ecological benefits.
