The Root River Management Plan lays out specific goals and recommendations to improve the water quality and ecological health of the watershed. A specific goal within this plan is to convert Milwaukee County park leased agricultural land along the Root River Primary Environmental corridor to woodlands or wetlands. Converting these three agricultural fields from row-crops will help accomplish the water quality improvements and wildlife habitat expansion.
