This grant will support ongoing restoration efforts at the Hunger Task Force Farm along the Root River in the City of Franklin. Hunger Task Force grows fruits and vegetables on the farm for local food pantries. Hunger Task Force’s long-term goal is to restore over 85 acres of natural areas on the 208-acre site. This phase of the project includes prescribed grazing, forestry mowing, and Phragmites treatment on 28 acres, along with maintenance of the 26 acres previously restored. Volunteers will help with much of this work.
