Our funding will help Ducks Unlimited participate in MMSD’s Reforestation and Wetland Restoration Program in the Milwaukee area. Funding will support the staff necessary to engineer, design and implement wetland restoration projects. MMSD has set a goal of planting 6,000,000 trees and restoring 4,000 acres of wetlands over the next 10 years. DU has signed an MOU with MMSD to help them meet the 4,000-acre wetland goal. DU’s goal is to have 10 wetland restoration projects under construction and 10 projects in planning within a year.  The projects will be prioritized based on ecological, financial and social metrics. These projects will consist of typical wetland restorations, removing ditches, breaking drain tiles and building berms.
