Reck South Ravine and Oak Savanna Restoration

Root- Pike WIN will construct a regenerative stormwater conveyance (RSC) system and restore two acres of oak savanna in a ravine immediately north of Hawthorn Hollow Nature Preserve. Ravine erosion along this stretch of the Pike River has been identified in the Pike River Watershed Restoration Plan as a high priority. An RSC solution will treat and disperse stormwater volume and energy in a chain of pools and rock falls where the water is treated and safely detained. A previous grant from the Fund supported the design plans for the site.
