Under this proposal, the city of Racine will develop design plans for green infrastructure at five city-owned properties—three in the Wind Point Watershed and two in the Pike River Watershed—that were identified as priorities in Watershed Restoration Plans. Once implemented, these projects will capture an estimated 600,000 gallons of storm water; abate excess phosphorus, chloride, and sediment; address e-coli contamination; improve habitat; and serve as high-profile demonstration sites for future green infrastructure initiatives.
