Pre-engineering to Restore Port Washington’s North Beach and Upper Lake Park Bluff

  • Grant Recipient: City of Port Washington
  • Amount: $53,000
  • Year: 2022
  • Watershed: Lake Michigan Coast
  • Focus Area: Green Infrastructure, Beach Restoration

This study will identify long-term solutions to address a bluff collapse into Lake Michigan that closed Port Washington’s North Beach. Heavy rains caused the bluff to collapse, closing North Beach and creating a threat to infrastructure on top of the bluff. This plan will create long term solutions for the city to repair the bluff, reopen the beach and improve water quality.
