Polk Springs Creek is a five mile stream in Washington County that has been severely impacted by decades of neglect. Washington County will help stabilize and reconnect floodplain along 5,435 feet of the stream. County conservation staff have been involved in a number of water quality improvement projects along the stream already including replacing a failing septic system, two barnyard improvement projects, controlling leachate from a manure storage facility and the establishment of 2,300 feet of riparian buffer. Polk Springs Creek has the potential to be one of the few cold water streams in Washington County
