Planning for Resiliency in the East River Watershed

  • Grant Recipient: The Nature Conservancy
  • Amount: $123,438
  • Year: 2020
  • Watershed: Fox River
  • Focus Area: Monitoring/Watershed Planning

Due to recent severe flooding, the East River Watershed has become one of the highest loading sediment and nutrient tributaries to the bay of Green Bay. The Nature Conservancy will dedicate a full-time staff person to developing a publicly-supported and actionable restoration plan for the East River. The project will work with the communities of the East River Watershed and Brown County to both develop the scientific tools needed to inform decision-making and build a watershed resilience collaborative with the goals of improving water quality and reducing the impacts of flooding in the East River watershed.
