This grant would support the restoration of 2,100 feet of Pigeon Creek in the village of Thiensville. Like many urban streams in southern Wisconsin, Pigeon Creek has suffered from channelization, sedimentation, flooding and poor water quality. This project would restore a more natural meandered stream channel and reconnect the creek with its historic floodplain. This project will improve water quality in Pigeon Creek as well as increasing flood storage in the Milwaukee River watershed.
