Under this phase of the Pike River Restoration, Kenosha County is improving the area immediately downstream from where a dam was removed in 2012, a project also supported by the FFLM. This project complements extensive work that has occurred upstream on the north and south branches of the Pike River and will result in stabilized stream banks, enhanced habitat along a river that the USEPA identifies as a high priority, and improved water quality in this Lake Michigan tributary.
