The Fund for Lake Michigan has awarded a challenge grant to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Freshwater Sciences to purchase a next-generation DNA sequencing tool to more quickly decode the genetic makeup of organisms in Lake Michigan and provide policymakers and other stakeholders the data they need to make more informed decisions on the region’s water system.
