Water School 2018: Building the Leadership Pipeline for Water Stewardship

  • Grant Recipient: Milwaukee Water Commons
  • Amount: $45,000
  • Year: 2018
  • Watershed: Kinnickinnic River, Menomonee River, Milwaukee River
  • Focus Area: Green Infrastructure

This grant supports the Water Commons’s ongoing work of building a leadership network for water stewardship. Each year, roughly 30 people from five Milwaukee neighborhoods complete the Water School to learn about the water cycle and gain skills they then use to launch a green infrastructure or water stewardship project in their respective communities. Water School is special because it trains and empowers individuals and communities that have not been active in water decision-making in the past.
