This project will create a partnership between the East River Collaborative and Wello, a community health equity and well-being organization in Green Bay.  Wello will assist the collaborative in engaging the community and in creating a community needs assessment. A bilingual Community Mobilizer will lead community engagement utilizing a cohort model approach. Under this model, the Community Mobilizer will recruit 10-15 people in underserved neighborhoods in Green Bay, Allouez, and Bellevue to be part of a 4-month cohort. These individuals will provide a critical on-the-ground community voice to help identify priority projects to reduce neighborhood flood risks through activities like green infrastructure, nature-based solutions, and flood proofing. Wello will also work with municipal partners to build feedback loops that ensure the perspectives of underserved residents are meaningfully built into flood risk-reduction planning and decision-making.
