Our funding would expand the capacity of the East River Collaborative partnership to provide neighborhood engagement with socially vulnerable communities. This work will be done in collaboration with Wello, a community health organization in Brown County. Communities within the East River watershed have faced increased flooding due to loss of wetlands, changes in agricultural land use, development pressure, climate change, and fluctuating lake levels. The proposed work seeks to prepare the East River watershed communities to implement resilient actions, including nature-based solutions, by engaging with residents who are most likely to be impacted by flooding in the watershed and giving them a strong voice in decision making.
