The Return the Sturgeon project builds on a 25-year effort between the Riveredge Nature Center and the WDNR to restore self-sustaining populations of lake sturgeon to the Milwaukee River after a 100-year absence. Along with supporting the ongoing rearing effort, this project will bolster opportunities for community engagement in the sturgeon restoration efforts.
