With this funding, American Rivers will hold workshops and create customizable resources for local leaders that help deploy sustainable funding strategies for projects in their community. This will strengthen the collective ability of coastal communities to jointly plan, invest, and implement natural infrastructure practices. American Rivers collaborates with the Water Now Alliance and One Water Econ to bring technical, financial and funding expertise to communities across the country. They will also collaborate with Lakeshore Natural Resources Partnership, Southeast Wisconsin Watershed Trust and Lower Grand River Organization of Watersheds in Michigan to build a collective network of water champions around Lake Michigan that support municipal efforts.
