Since 2017 NWSCDC has been transforming a once-flooded vacant brownfield in Milwaukee’s 30th Street Corridor into a Green Tech Station demonstration site. With this grant from the Fund, NWSCDC will install an educational plaza and 20 test plots showcasing various types of green infrastructure, where researchers and companies can evaluate the effectiveness of different materials in capturing and treating polluted runoff. The grand opening is planned for the summer of 2019.
