This grant will help convert a large degraded paved area along the Sheboygan River into usable park space, featuring green infrastructure and new public access to the river. It’s part of a larger project to create a learning and outdoor recreation area that connects the 8th Street Bridge Public Boat Launch with the new Visitor Center of Sheboygan, all in the name of enhancing water-related recreational opportunities in Sheboygan and making the lakefront more accessible to the estimated 35 percent of residents who have never visited it.
