  • Focus Area: Habitat Restoration, Green Infrastructure

Bookworm Gardens is a wonderful book-themed botanical garden in Sheboygan.  Located on 7.5 acres, Bookworm Gardens currently includes over 75 different gardens all inspired by children’s books.  More than 80,000 people a year visit the gardens and visitor numbers have gone up significantly in recent years. Based on this demand, Bookworm Gardens is expanding to an adjacent 23.5-acre parcel along the southern bank of the Sheboygan River.  With support from the Fund, Bookworm Gardens will develop a green infrastructure plan for both the existing site and for the new parcel to reduce current runoff and subsequent erosion to the Sheboygan River.
