Fund For Lake Michigan

Green Bay Coastal Wetland Restoration Phase II

  • Grant Recipient: Ducks Unlimited
  • Amount: $150,000
  • Year: 2021
  • Watershed: Lake Michigan Coast
  • Focus Area: Habitat Restoration

Seventy percent of the wetlands along Green Bay’s west shore have been lost due to degradation resulting from increased nutrient and sediment runoff, invasive species, poor water quality, and habitat loss. Ducks Unlimited is combating these threats in Ken Euers Nature Area and the Sensiba Unit of the Green Bay West Shores Wildlife Area by restoring 166 acres of impounded coastal marsh bird habitat and 52 acres of pike spawning habitat.
