Village of Fox Point ($100,000)With this $100,000 award, the Village of Fox Point will stabilize two steep ravines using a new stormwater best management practice called Regenerative Stormwater Conveyance. These ravines drain approximately 87 acres and lead into a storm sewer that discharges directly into the lake. They also contribute significant amounts of sediment during storm events. Regenerative Stormwater Conveyance utilizes a series of shallow aquatic pools, native vegetation, underlying sand, and woodchip beds to treat, detain, and convey storm flow. This is an innovative approach and the second of its kind in the state. As such, it will provide an important opportunity to test the effectiveness of RSC in improving water quality.
