With this funding, Root-Pike WIN will restore ten acres of prairie and wetland habitat in Kenosha County at Gitzlaff Park in the Village of Sommers. The park is located on the Sommers Branch of the Pike River and is listed in critical need of restoration in the Pike River Watershed Plan. Root-Pike Win hopes to eventually restore all 24 acres of Gitzlaff Park to native prairie and wetland.
