With this grant, Journey House will install two large bioswales and native plantings at Baran Park, a county-owned park that drains directly to the Kinnickinnic River. The project is part of a high-profile, multi-million dollar upgrade to the park’s Felix Mantilla Little League field. Journey House will also offer training and job opportunities for unemployed, low-income adults and out-of-school youth to maintain the fields, bioswales, and other park features.
