The East River Watershed is one of the highest loading sediment and nutrient tributaries to Lake Michigan’s Green Bay, contributing to eutrophication, toxic algal blooms, and poor water quality. The newly established East River Resiliency Collaborative, consisting of government, environmental, and communities from the local and federal level, was created to address these issues of sediment loading and flooding in the watershed. Funding for this project will coordinate this new leadership team as they develop the East River Flood Decision Tool.
