This funding would support a feasibility study for a community waste treatment facility for six farms in Washington County.  In total these farms contain 5,000 dairy cows and produce waste equivalent to the City of Green Bay. While community digesters have been installed in other places in Wisconsin, each project differs greatly based on local conditions and every evolving technology.  This would be the first community animal waste treatment facility in the Milwaukee River Watershed.
