Riveredge Nature Center ($20,000)The Riveredge Nature Center has received this $20,000 award to launch an educational initiative that aims to motivate residents and businesses in the Village of Newburg in Ozaukee County to improve the water quality of the Milwaukee River. By holding community festivals on the river, as well one-on-one and community gatherings with residents, the Riveredge Nature Center intends to not only foster interest in the river, but also to inform residents of the impacts they have on water quality. Furthermore, the Riveredge Nature Center will provide technical assistance and materials such as rain barrels, land management plans, and native plants.
