This grant would help subsidize the cost to farmers of changing agricultural practices on their land that provide water quality benefits. These practices include planting cover crops, switching to “no-till” cropping and utilizing low-disturbance manure applicators to help improve and safeguard water quality. Ozaukee County and the Clean Farm Families continue to set the example of what a successful Demonstration Farm network looks like in Wisconsin. Project partners have been successful in securing larger grants from DATCP and USDA to support this work.
