City of Greenfield

  • Grant Recipient: City of Greenfield
  • Amount: $65,000
  • Year: 2018
  • Watershed: Root River
  • Focus Area: Stream Restoration

This project is part of a multi-phase effort to improve the condition of Wildcat Creek, an urban stream in the upper Root River Watershed that has contributed to flash floods in recent years. This initiative by the city of Greenfield will remove invasive species, stabilize the stream bank with rocks and native plants, and clear debris from the creek. The outcome will be increased flow, enhanced habitat, higher water quality, and improved aesthetics on a 500-foot segment of the Creek located in the popular Kulwicki Park.
