Fund For Lake Michigan

Building Municipal Green Streets Program Capacity

  • Grant Recipient: City of Green Bay
  • Amount: $85,000
  • Year: 2022
  • Watershed: Fox River
  • Focus Area: Green Infrastructure

The City of Green Bay is developing a Green Streets program to address two key stormwater challenges: managing urban stormwater runoff quantity and reducing pollutant discharges to local waterways. This grant will support the construction of a section of permeable street in a residential neighborhood adjacent to the Fox River and the widely used  Fox River Trail. This will be the first permeable street project in the city and would provide an opportunity to integrate green infrastructure into planned roads and alley reconstruction projects.
