Fund For Lake Michigan

Bradley Lake Water Quality Improvement & Habitat Restoration

  • Grant Recipient: City of Sturgeon Bay
  • Amount: $100,000
  • Year: 2014
  • Watershed: Lake Michigan Coast
  • Focus Area: Habitat Restoration

The City will use a grant from the Fund for Lake Michigan to restore Bradley Lake, also known as Little Lake, located in a popular community park in Sturgeon Bay. Water quality in the lake has degraded significantly in recent years as a result of stormwater runoff, invasive species and associated urban problems. The grant will help the city daylight a storm sewer that currently drains directly into Bradley Lake and create an alternative overland biofiltration drainage system, which will restore water quality as well as habitat and recreation potential to this high-profile site.
