Fund For Lake Michigan

Agricultural Conversion at Trinity Creek Headwaters

  • Grant Recipient: Mequon Nature Preserve
  • Amount: $25,000
  • Year: 2018
  • Watershed: Milwaukee River
  • Focus Area: Stream Restoration

This grant would further the Mequon Nature Preserve’s efforts to restore a 438-acre property in a quickly developing area just north of the City of Milwaukee. Under the current proposal, MNP would restore 11 acres within the Milwaukee River Watershed on Trinity Creek. Activities include drain tile and sediment removal, creek re-meandering, and a native prairie restoration to minimize erosion.
